Almost all the forest of Civrais occupies the territory of Saint-Plaisir. The wood trade and forest occupied the inhabitants of the neighboring hamlet of Gennetines, but today labor is replaced by machines. At Gennetines, houses become second homes. The famous stoup without water is the source of a local saying synonymous of extreme aridity. The same forest of Civrais was the scene, the August 8, 1944, of a bloody episode of the Resistance in Bourbonnais, which is commemorated each year on the anniversary date.
